The Ali Tramline Reducer is a smart, professional-grade solution for bridging height differences between hard floor surfaces. Made from durable aluminium, it’s designed to deliver a sleek, flush finish while accommodating flooring thicknesses between 2mm and 9mm, depending on the profile selected.

Ideal for LVT (2–3mm) and Click flooring (4–5mm), the reducer features a 3mm recess to allow the flooring to sit neatly within. By planing or grooving the back of the LVT, you can achieve a smooth ramp that blends perfectly with the surrounding floor. Simply rotate the trim to create either a 2mm or 3mm drop, depending on your needs.

Each profile includes pre-attached adhesive tape for easy installation—both to the floor and within the recess. Some installations may require surface preparation or the use of heat to shape the flooring into the recess for a secure fit.

  • The Ali Tramline Transition is a door threshold for joining all types of vinyl flooring across a doorway or room, including LVT, LVP, dryback, click, floating, WPC and SPC. It is also suitable for non-porous, level-floating and non-floating flooring.
  • Insert a strip of your flooring into the Transition profile to create a discrete, matching door bar strip.
  • The Tramline Transition covers the cut edges of the floor coverings, creating a professional finish and protecting your flooring from wear.
  • Choose the appropriate recess depth for your particular floorcovering - see Size Options information below.
  • This product features a recessed channel with pre-attached heat and moisture-resistant tape to hold your insert strip of flooring in place.
  • Similar to a T moulding in function.
  • Only use if your two floors are level i.e. flat with each other. If your floor edges are not level, then take a look at the Tramline Reducer.
  • The Tramline Transition is produced in high-grade aluminium in a choice of 4 metal finishes: polished brass, antique brass, chrome, and black.
  • A super-strong adhesive strip firmly holds the door thresholds to the floor, allowing for flooring expansion; no screws are needed and therefore this transition is ideal for underfloor heating.
  • Available 1800mm long, which can be cut to length.

Size options for the Ali Tramline Transition door threshold

  • Three recess depths available:
    • 1mm option is suitable for WPC and SPC core vinyl (wood and stone) by carefully peeling off the top design layer to create the matching inlay. The width of the inset flooring needs to be 24mm (see diagrams on this page).
    • 3mm option is suitable for LVT which is 2-3mm thick and fitted with recommended underlay system for expansion. The width of the inset flooring needs to 24mm (see diagrams on this page)

Fitting tips for the 1mm recess option

  • This option is only suitable for WPC/SPC types of rigid vinyl and requires some skill to peel off the top, patterned layer. Please watch the video to see how it is done.
  • Measure and cut a section of the top layer of the flooring and fix it into the Tramline Transition using the pre-attached contact tape.

Fitting tips for the 3mm recess options

  • Measure and cut a section of LVT flooring and fix it into the Tramline Transition using the pre-attached contact tape.
  • The 3mm allows for up to 16mm expansion.
